Job Description

Human Resources Services (HRS) is an internal function providing global operations and business support across Brookfield’s lines of business.

Overview

The role of the Analyst is to effectively process the European payrolls for the EMEA region which consists of the UK, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain payrolls as well as working closely with the wider HRS, finance and equity teams. The role will also work on wider benefits project alongside payroll. The ideal candidate will be someone that thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment, where your positive 'can do', entrepreneurial approach will be essential.


The Human Resources (HR) team consists of 3 key streams: HR Operations, HR Business Partnering and Talent Attraction. The Analyst will be part of the HR Operations team providing administrative support for the region’s various payroll and benefits activities. 

Responsibilities

HRS

  • Ensure all new starters are onboarded; and leavers are terminated on workday in a timely manner ahead of monthly payroll cut off
  • Respond to payroll and benefit requests generated via tickets, email inquiry, chat or telephone inquiries in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring all requests are logged into the case management system
  • Understand the structure of the organization and ensure all reporting lines and entities
  • Provide employee assistance with self-service transactions within Workday
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll/benefit processes, recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
  • Follow up on outstanding tickets to ensure requests and issues are resolved in a timely manner

Payroll Processing

  • Designated point of contact for payroll & benefits related queries and coordination of the European payroll inbox
  • Support the day-to-day processing of allocated European Payrolls including (but not limited to) the collating and uploading of all payroll adjustments into the payroll system for each region
  • Support the monthly payroll on-boarding process, by adding all ‘new joiners’ to the relevant country’s payroll in a timely manner
  • Support the monthly payroll off-boarding process, by processing all ‘leavers’ from the relevant country’s payroll in the month that their employment with the Company terminates
  • Support the processing of all non-standard Payroll processing across the region
  • Completion of all payroll administration relating to maternity, paternity, adoption and/or shared parental leave
  • Support the preparation and submission of all statutory reporting documentation in each European country where a centralised payroll is run (e.g., P60’s, P11D’s, ERS reporting etc)
  • Work with the global team on any payroll related projects (workday payroll implementation, payroll transitions)
  • Review and update payroll SOPs periodically in line with internal processes

Benefits Administration

  • Ensure all new starters are added to, and leavers are removed from relevant company benefit schemes and ensure these feed through to payroll
  • Collate benefit data for annual compensation cycle
  • Manage the benefit providers list and ensure all points of contact are up to date

Audit and Reporting

  • Respond to Payroll reporting requests, including (but not limited to) salary data, sickness absence records, holiday records, and bonus data etc.
  • Support the Finance department with all month-end and year-end Payroll reporting, including the collating and analyzing of any relevant Payroll data
  • Support the global Equities team with audit and reconciliations
  • Assisting with the annual payroll audit

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years + Payroll experience
  • Experience of using “Workday” and understanding payroll
  • Workday payroll experience required
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Strong administration skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and capable of communicating with a range of different stakeholders
