Overview:

    Casual hours commencing as soon as possible and for Semester 1 2025
•    Face to Face teaching into Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Aeronautical)
•    Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You

As a Casual Sessional within Vocational Education, you will be mainly responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses within the program.   
  
We are looking for sessional teachers with industry currency and competency to assist teaching into Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Aeronautical).

Key Responsibilities  
 
•    Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.
•    Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
•    Demonstrated ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
•    Demonstrated experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge.
•    Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
•    Experience utilising Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and software such as CAD or Solid works   
•    Familiarity teaching within any of the following course subjects would be highly desirable: Aircraft Design, Aeronautical Design Principles, Aeronautical Engineering Fundamentals or Aircraft Power Plant Design, Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Fluid Power.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have / you’ll have as a minimum: 

•    Certificate IV in TAE 40116 or 40122 (highly important)
•    Current industry experience in our subject offerings   
•    Passion for education and the teaching profession 
•    Demonstrated experience teaching in Vocational Education  
•    The ability to travel to all locations as required. 
•    A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) 

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
