Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Functional (job responsibilities, depending on assignment to which function(s) as listed below):

1. Operations & Strategy

  • Responsible in the overall supervision of bank operations including operationalization, compliance of Shariah and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop/Source and implement technology and business strategies to enhance current and future business thrust of the bank and strengthen bank’s overall scorecard.
  • To identify & deliver strategic operational & capital cost savings.
  • To undertake any leadership and supervisory role as required by management from time to time.

2. Reporting & Control

  • Manage Internal & External reporting including regulatory
  • Drive stakeholder relations with all internal & external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, industry players, government bodies etc.
  • To manage budgetary submissions, utilization, tracking and regular reporting.
  • To strengthen and ensure effective management of department’s Risk and Compliance activities.
  • To manage HLISB Business Continuity Management activities in the capacity as divisional coordinator.

3. Digital & Systems

  • Cultivate and develop engagement with industry players, FinTech’s, regulators to identify, source and implement new technology, out of box solutions aimed at improving customer experience as well as bank’s operational efficiency, financial returns, mitigating risks & shariah requirements.
  • To lead and/or drive cross functional collaboration to deliver system automation, digitization and process digitalization. 
  • Deliver Business Project Management resources/responsibilities/outcomes for assigned projects.
  • To manage requirements and activities related to outsourcing of shared services model under the parent Bank.
  • To manage, evolve and enhance Commodity Trading Platform (CTP) system infra, operationalization, and all associated vendors/partners.

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • To drive and coach the team to meet with departmental and divisional business drivers.
  • Align and involve the department in pursuing short, medium and long-term strategies.
  • Ensure department meets the business objectives and service level goals by providing managerial oversight, direction, and effective monitoring of department performance.
  • Responsible in retaining and hiring of talents for the team.

Organizational (organizational responsibilities)

  • Establish department and individual goals to be consistent with that of the Bank.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to establish the required support structure for the business.

  • Malaysian Citiz

Education/Qualification

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or any other related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ managerial experience in banking (across business transformation, product/IT development, technology project management, Data Science, Partnerships & Propositions etc.) preferably with Islamic Banking experience included.
