The Threat and Cyber Systems Division of Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a highly motivated Senior Principal Software Engineer to join a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment to perform software and hardware reverse engineering for foreign weapons systems. The candidate should demonstrate a combination of strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The candidate must have exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Software reverse engineering of various programmable devices
Design hardware and software tools to support SWRE efforts.
Develop embedded firmware to support reverse engineering related tasks such as HITL and CM
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to help develop skills of less senior team members
Communicate results to customer and colleagues via written reports and presentations
Basic Qualifications
Candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institute of higher learning and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience. Candidate will demonstrate:
Extensive SWRE and forward design experience with various programmable devices including microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
HWRE and design experience with both analog and digital hardware
Technical leadership experience in both RE and design roles
Competency in C++/C and assembly languages
Competency in VHDL and Verilog
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess and be able to maintain a Final Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. degree in an Engineering or related field
Working knowledge of radio frequency system on chip (RFSoC)
Working knowledge of RF system design
