The AVP, Connected Living Mobile Compliance reports directly to the Vice President, Ethics and Connected Living Compliance and will be responsible for leading the corporate compliance team to provide compliance oversight of the Connected Living’s Mobile Device business. This position provides regulatory and compliance advisory and management services while serving as a trusted internal consultant to employees and leaders, including senior level leadership, on key Mobile compliance issues. This position is also responsible for the advancement, continued development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Connected Living Mobile compliance program in a practical, hands-on way where the successful candidate will develop a deep knowledge and understanding of Mobile business operations, priorities, risks, and challenges. This is a remote opportunity.

What will my duties and responsibilities be in this job?

Compliance Operations

  • Lead the further development, advancement, and implementation of Connected Living’s (CL) Mobile Compliance Program.

  • Provide ongoing assessment and improvements of the program objectives and deliverables including outlining a vision and strategy for Mobile Compliance.

  • Work closely with other employees including supply chain and trade compliance teams to ensure effective and appropriate management and screening of Mobile business buyers and third parties as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with international compliance, legal and CL business partners to implement global initiatives for Mobile.

  • Lead team to support compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and best practices including trade, import/export and supply chain regulations.

  • Oversee the CL mobile Compliance Program requirements and governance framework with a structured approach to managing compliance activities including risk assessments, policy development, process improvement, testing, reporting, and monitoring, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Engage with stakeholders in the development and execution of the Compliance Program objectives related to processes, policies, services, and initiatives, including collaborating with business partners and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency across Connected Living.

  • Evaluate and assess program effectiveness using both quantitative and qualitative measures, recommending changes and enhancements to improve value and awareness of Compliance Program elements.

  • Direct the development and implementation of standard operating procedures related to the various compliance areas of oversight in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, client requirements, industry recommended practices, and organizational risk.

  • Direct, monitor, and execute compliance initiatives in response to change management related to laws and regulations in consultation with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure program effectiveness.

  • Interface with legal, operations, business areas, Internal Audit, Risk, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to proactively review risk areas, results of reviews, and collaborate on process improvements and risk mitigation strategies to address.

  • Lead the development and execution of testing and monitoring program including identification of testing and monitoring tools, processes, resources, approach, reporting, repositories, determining metrics, establishing tracking systems, creating corrective action plans, etc.   

  • Oversee and direct Corrective Action Plans and remediation efforts as necessary and appropriate in collaboration with business and key stakeholders to develop solutions toward reducing risk and resolving identified compliance issues and areas of improvement, audit and risk findings, emerging risks, client concerns, and self-identified business issues.

  • Provide guidance to key stakeholders on compliance with applicable rules, regulations, internal processes and client requirements governing service and product delivery.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders to help foster compliance and drive improvements.

Performance and Development

  • Manage and provide leadership to staff to support compliance program deliverables and serve as trusted advisors to foster a culture of compliance and facilitate change management for compliance activities.

  • Develop and direct staff to ensure effective job performance, identify development needs and create career progression.

  • Direct workflow to maintain adequate resources to execute on deliverables.

  • Provide compliance advisory services to support the implementation of business strategies, initiatives, and action plans.

  • Provide advice and support on process improvement and recommended practices in partnership with the business, client, and internal customers.

  • Direct the assessment of targeted compliance issues and incidents and assist investigation function as appropriate.

  • Availability and interest in supporting important international or global Mobile business initiatives including new operations, pilot projects, and client requests for assistance.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Legal, Business Administration, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive compliance experience, preferably in a manager, officer, or director role, with demonstrated knowledge of compliance rules, regulations, and best practices.

  • A minimum of 7 years of direct leadership experience, including virtual teams.

  • Ability to establish credibility with business owners, including senior leadership, through professional communication, work product, etc. Solutions-oriented, demonstrated growth mindset and strong analytical skills.

  • Champion a culture of integrity and adherence to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders of various levels and areas throughout the organization.

  • Successful track record working in a multi-function, global environment.

  • Ability to lead change efforts through effective communication and persuasion.

  • Proven track record to build innovative techniques into business processes.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Experience in mobile device, logistics, transportation, financial services, or insurance industries.

  • Strong critical thinking skills, superior attention to detail, the ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data.

  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, principles and procedures for strategic planning and reporting.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to think long term and organizationally.

  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices.

  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance risk assessments, systems and controls preferred.

  • Ability to work successfully in complex and emerging business and project areas with areas of gray.

  • Have or be willing to obtain applicable compliance certification such as CCEP, LPEC, CRCM, etc.

  • Auditing and monitoring experience a plus.

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?

Pay Range:

$138,200.00 - $230,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
