Team/Role Overview

This is a role within a recently created team, responsible for ensuring that legal obligations are adequately captured within the firm’s regulatory inventory. The team sits within Legal and has responsibility for regulations  across a wide range of jurisdictions, including the UK and a number of countries within the Middle East & Africa (MEA). 

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for reviewing regulations and carrying out drafting to ensure that the Firm’s regulatory obligations are appropriately captured in its regulatory inventory. You will be part of a team that is globally based and work with colleagues both locally and across the globe.

  • Reviewing laws, rules and regulations which impact the firm as a Bank  .
  • Drafting accurate publication and obligation summary content, for inclusion in the firm’s regulatory inventory.
  • Working within established KPIs.
  • Liaising with colleagues, primarily in the UK and MEA, in order to understand the regulatory landscape influencing the drafting of regulatory obligations.
  • Cooperating with quality review colleagues to ensure content is accurate and fit for purpose.

What we’ll need from you

  • Legal qualification ideally.
  • Accustomed to and comfortable with, reviewing regulations applicable to a financial services organization.
  • Prior experience in working for a financial services organization.
  • Drafting working knowledge – able to understand complex regulation and distil to key obligations: ideally prior experience  with reviewing/analyzing UK financial services legislation, including PRA and FCA rulebooks
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks within Middle East and Africa.
