Crew Tech Lead - Audit Automated Assurance

Role Scope

This is a new role to help establish and execute the technology vision for the 3 Lines of Assurance (3LOA) Automated Assurance Crew. This is a new Crew within the Financial Services division established to drive an ambitious agenda to reimagine assurance within Divisional teams (Line 1), Group Risk (Line 2), and Group Audit (Line 3) through advanced analytics, AI and automated control testing. A key deliverable of this role will be to work with the Crew Lead and Product Owners to design and deliver a strategic assurance engine that can ingest automated control tests and support continuous monitoring/assurance, with the ultimate goal of improving customer and risk outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a technology roadmap to support the 3LOA Automated Assurance vision and goals, aligned to the Group’s Technology Strategy
  • Work with product owners, architecture, and engineering to design and implement an assurance automation platform
  • Lead a team of technology professionals within the 3LOA Automated Assurance crew as part of the CBA Pace model
  • Work with Assurance SME’s to understand and contribute to the definition of solution requirements
  • Work with other experts within Group Technology on key elements such as data ingestion, integration, and security
  • Operate the solutions delivered to 3LOA within a DevSecOps delivery model
  • Assist with solution vendor selection and partner with vendors to deliver positive outcomes

Candidate requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a technology engineering discipline, with at least 3 years in automation related roles and a key passion for data engineering
  • Demonstrable track record in helping solve business problems with technology
  • Strong understanding of data and analytics, with competencies in AI being a plus
  • Sound understanding of the role of assurance functions and their core processes - Good to have.
  • Direct experience in automating assurance activities within a large corporate will be highly advantageous
  • Experience in the Financial Services/Banking sector is beneficial but not a necessity
