About the Role:

The System Support Operator operates electronic and electromechanical imaging systems used to produce corporate publications or products.. This includes the operation and maintenance of the Computer to Plate equipment, controls and materials. This part-time role is based in White Oak. Maryland and reports to the Technology Service Manager.

You Will:

  • Prepare and maintain imaging equipment.
  • Check accuracy of images on plates against confirmation reports.
  • Verify color plates for precision registration.
  • Distribute plates accurately to appropriate presses.
  • Serve as the primary contact with off-site Pre-Press departments (WSJ, BH, & NYP).
  • Monitor page flow, replates, and other relevant information, and relay to press personnel.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records; complete nightly reports.
  • Prepare and load plates into imaging units.
  • Operate imager, processor, and benders.
  • Operate, image, and maintain proofing systems.
  • Keep plateroom and equipment clean and properly maintained.
  • Recognize and report system problems to technical support for action.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Manager.
  • Learn and operate multiple computer applications related to CTP.
  • Remain professional, reliable, and report to work on time.

You Have:

  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Strong math, mechanical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Capable of lifting 35-pound packages of printing plates.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $22.00
