With interesting opportunities in engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, operations, HR, finance, and more across more than 40 diverse businesses around the globe, chances are, we have something special for you.

Summary:

The Full-Stack Software Engineer role is to deliver both Front/Back-end software for our cloud-based sensor management and data analytics software product called PRISM.   The developer will create award-winning software solutions for our IoT hardware devices.  To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for Agile software development with multi-terabyte datasets, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ship high-quality software that delivers value for our customers.

We’re a globally distributed team that embraces the culture of remote working.  We have some developers in our home office in Huntsville, Alabama and some throughout the United States.  We use Slack to stay connected and do in-person hackathons often.  We move fast by building our products in the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem using agile software development techniques, automated testing, continuous integration, and microservices.  Our backend stack is ASP.NET Core and Azure Cosmos DB, and front-end is done with Angular and TypeScript. Our machine learning and AI systems are built on Python, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn. We self-manage our projects through Azure DevOps (VSTS) with Git source control repositories.  However, because of our innovative culture, we’re open to suggestions on how we can improve our stack and deliver value to our customers faster.

We’re a team that’s very passionate about the products we create because of the long-term positive effects we’re able to have on millions of people around the globe.  We make the world a better place through our software and IoT hardware products that provide information on municipal water collection systems so city planners can better prevent sewer overflows and provide clean water for their citizens.  As the leader in our industry and with over 40 years of experience, our business is experiencing unbelievable growth, yet has a stable business model allowing us to invest in long-term software projects.

Primary Duties:

  • Work with a team that includes front-end developers, back-end developers, data scientists, business analysts, QA and documentation to create compelling software products for our customers.
  • Using strong computer science fundamentals, design and write highly-performant, scalable, and secure software APIs by developing on the backend with .NET 6, Cosmos DB, and other Azure technologies.
  • Improve API performance throughout our application and enhance cloud architecture using best practices.
  • Develop a strong DevOps practice within our software team, helping us to achieve good, automated unit test coverage, automated infrastructure, and teach us how to be more efficient and toil less.
  • Work effectively with a globally distributed team.
  • Participate in all aspects of software development: from estimating to scheduling, to implementation and then release.
  • Provide input on improving the software organization to increase throughput, improve quality, and continuously improve processes.

How we like to work:

  • Collaborative and super-productive teams with an Agile Mindset. We value output over effort.  We value self-organizing teams that achieve results.
  • Self-motivated people with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • We all have a desire to learn something new every day and to share our knowledge with others.
  • We despise the status quo.  We welcome questions and suggestions that challenge our way of thinking.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years production coding experience with .NET, C#, Angular, and TypeScript in an agile environment
  • Solid database skills with Azure Cosmos DB, SQL Server, or other non-relational technologies (Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with high-scale SaaS software systems built for the cloud.
  • Self-motivated to learn and stay on top of new technologies.  Able to train others in newer technologies that promote real business value.
  • Experience with MS Azure, Amazon AWS or Google Cloud
  • Kubernetes and other cloud-native technology experience
