Impact

As our Data Scientist you will develop Data Science and Machine Learning solutions to develop the intelligence behind Shipt's delivery promise to accommodate the needs of customers while ensuring operationally efficient, on-time, and high quality deliveries. Every day you will work on a team of 4 Data Scientists to build machine learning models in the Availability Engine. You will develop supply/demand forecasting, customer segmentation/personalization, and demand shaping strategies using Python, SQL, and Tableau.

• MS of PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematis, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields 

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist building models that help optimize business decisions

• You understand supply/demand forecasting, bayesian inference, market dynamics, reliability/risk, optimization.

• You are able to build ML models and end-to end deployment with optimization frameworks. 

• You have experience with a statistical scripting language (e.g., R, Python), a database query language (SQL, BigQuery, etc.), and version control systems

• You have expertise in experimentation and general statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference, study design, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Pay Range:

$82,086-$164,314

All other locations:

$68,405-$136,929

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
