JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of our Structural Heart business is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an incredibly clinically-focused Territory Manager to join our Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge-Repair (TEER) team, establishing and growing TEER sales and implants in key centres within the defined territory (South West, South Coast plus some London accounts).
What you’ll do:
- This role is a mix of clinical and commercial activity, to include market development & support to product launches.
- Identify priority centres, providing rationale as to why they fit the ABT clinical/commercial criteria for development.
- Act as the front line partner for customer interface, independently supporting TEER cases to an expert level.
- Become conversant in all aspects of TEER and to be able to effectively communicate the rationale of using Abbott TEER technology in all applications.
- Facilitate communication among the diverse stakeholders within hospitals (Interventionalists, Echocardiologists, sonographers, cardiac anesthesiologists, surgeons, cath lab management, etc.) that need to work together effectively to generate patients for treatment, procedure scheduling, and successful clinical outcomes.
- Manage logistics between the site and SH related to procedural support.
- Aid patient recruitment/referral and support to doctors with defining patient selection.
- Maintains expert status and continuing clinical and technical proficiency in product expertise that goes beyond features and benefits, focusing also on design, development, clinical application and competitive positioning.
- Achieve sales targets on the given territory, maintaining all aspects of commercial activity, including KOL relationships, monitoring competitor activity and pricing.
- Ability to operate commercially with both clinical and commercial customers and to understand the following; trends in heart disease management therapies, local market dynamics in terms of political influences, healthcare budgets and re-imbursement policies, local ABT opportunities and threats, including competitors’ strategies and offerings and KOL influences in each Account, Healthcare Trust organisational structures and decision making networks, including key individual influencers at all level, customer procurement procedures, buying styles, and Hospital administrative objectives.
What you’ll need:
- Degree preferable;
- Experience in the medical device sector is preferred or relevant medical/catheter laboratory experience, ideally within imaging;
- Strong Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology knowledge and familiarity with cath lab/operating room procedures and protocols;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders;
- Ideally prior sales experience, but a purely clinical profile will be considered;
- Willingness to travel extensively to support a large territory;
- Proven ability to delivers results;
- To demonstrate initiative and work with a high degree of independence;
- To be a teamplayer and also demonstrate high personal involvement with commitment to the customer.
