Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  • Provides customer service to suppliers, buyers, and associates; possible routing shipments to distribution centers by building loads, including load exceptions; designating carriers; adding accessorial fees using transportation management systems and other resources; coordinating with team members to find alternative solutions; and elevating exceptions to leadership.
  • Troubleshoots shipment problems and load and shipment exceptions and re-assignments by researching the root cause of issues for carriers and suppliers, re-assigning, and tracking loads in the event of failures and reporting exceptions to the appropriate parties.
  • Provides customer service for internal customers, suppliers and carriers by providing education on Walmart procedures; gathering all pertinent information from carriers, suppliers, replenishment, entering the information into the transportation system; tracking and tracing all purchase orders and loads created in advance of events; alerting internal and external customers regarding the status of shipments; and, coordinating with consolidation and DC operations to ensure loads related to event programs arrive to meet the delivery window.
  • Develop and expand skills and knowledge of all processes within department by pursuing cross training and taking classes; sharing knowledge and experiences with peers; and participating occasionally to validate new functionality in systems and volunteering for projects.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities in transportation by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and exceptions; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the open-door policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00-$40.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
