The IT Systems Analyst, Worldwide Patient Safety IT, will be an expert solution specialist in Global Risk Management (REMS/RMP), including Pharmacovigilance. He/she will have hands-on expertise in the product and will help raise capability awareness and adoption by facilitating training, super user support, and communications. The role is responsible for understanding business needs and overseeing implementations from ideation to launching solutions and delivering business value.

The IT Systems Analyst would work closely with the Product Manager to plan the release cycle, optimization, and innovation. The role will also collaborate with various stakeholders, including business users, software developers, project managers, and IT teams, to ensure the successful delivery of technical projects and solutions. 

This position will also support change management, training, super user network, and user acceptance and ensure their continued growth and development while developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, industry experts, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical strategy and business goals. The successful candidate will have experience in business analysis, process modeling, writing user stories, and working as part of an agile software development team.  This position will require the incumbent to demonstrate effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication across IT and business stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an IT Systems Analyst on a Global Risk Management IT Product Team.
  • Competent in programming at an intermediate level is needed, preferably in Python, Java, or a comparable language, along with a comprehension of AI and automation concepts.
  • Partner with the Lead Product Manager, Technical Lead, Business Lead, and other IT colleagues as part of a Product Team to review and assess demand requests, explore ideas and enhancements, and evaluate requirements and ongoing business-driven change initiatives leading to value-driven business cases and well-defined implementation plans.
  • Analyze business requirements and capture user stories using JIRA
  • Experience in Visualizing business process flows using visualization tools, such as BPM, MS Visio, Lucid Chart, etc.
  • Work closely with developers as part of the agile development team to translate user stories into working applications.
  • Manage user acceptance testing, training, and change management associated with the rollout of automation solutions.
  • Prepare Functional User Manuals for end users
  • Develop and maintain business requirements, user stories, and other documentation as required by BMS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and software validation processes
  • Provide functional guidance to developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are implemented correctly and are maintained effectively throughout their lifecycle
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and act as a catalyst and champion for innovation in Life Sciences Industry

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, process mapping, solution development and delivery
  • Requires basic knowledge and technical skills typically gained through a university degree and minimal relevant prior experience or HS diploma/technical school and relevant certifications plus 2 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, experience with agile development methodologies
  • Competent in programming at an intermediate level is needed
  • Ability to process a wide variety of information, create detailed business and functional requirements for testing/implementation
  • Experience implementing BPM solutions desired (e.g., Pega, Salesforce, Camunda/Bonitasoft)
  • Functional knowledge or prior experience in Lifesciences Research and Development domain
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies & Regulatory Standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
