JR62263 MANAGER, QMS-SYSTEM PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCEJob Description
As a Global Quality, Quality Management Systems (QMS), System Performance Excellence (SPE) Manager in the Quality Management Office at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with QMS Process Owners, Standards Program Managers, and Leaders across the globe to deploy, drive and improve quality systems at Micron.
The following attributes in a candidate are essential to success in this role:
QMS Governance
Must have knowledge of and experience working within a QMS. This includes interpretation of requirements and management of documents, processes, and procedures.
Business Process Management and Improvement
You must be experienced in the practice of identifying, analyzing, and improving existing business processes to optimize performance, meet requirements and standards, or simply improve quality and the user experience for customers and end-users.
Communication
This is a connective role with important interfaces across product development, engineering, and operations. You must have strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Project/Program Management
Work ethic, responsiveness, and results orientation matter! With everyone driving hard to achieve the company’s goals, it is critical to have strong project planning and structured approaches to big decisions. This must include following a methodical approach to change control.
Change Leader
You need to have the ability to influence and enthuse others through personal advocacy, vision, and drive. This position can be uncomfortable and requires you to embrace the tension, listen and learn if we are to continuously improve.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Be a people Manager:
§ Assist in the development of team members reporting to you.
§ Set high standards of excellence and hold your team accountable.
§ Frequently check in with team members on a one-on-one basis.
§ Provide feedback to team members in real time.
§ Reward and recognize positive impacts.
§ Motivate team members to achieve successful outcomes.
An advocate and guardian of the QMS framework:
§ Provide/influence the strategy and vision for the QMS structure: quality manual, quality policy, standards, processes, and programs.
§ Develop and drive QMS performance metrics.
§ Manage the QMS from end-to-end as a system of processes.
§ Sustain QMS project portfolio, which includes managing stakeholder feedback and project selection.
§ Provide oversight of the Management Review process as a process steward. (as applicable)
§ Lead QMS business process development and improvement efforts to simplify and streamline the QMAP.
Lead the integration of QMS requirements and structure across processes and sites:
§ Be accountable for the success of QMS deployment (integration of requirements) across value chain functions.
§ Collaborate with local teams and remove roadblocks to defining and executing site deployment plan.
§ Collaborate with process owners and remove roadblocks to defining and executing deployment plan across the enterprise.
§ Serve as a point of contact for QMS and hold stakeholders accountable.
§ Communicate quality standards and processes, and provide explanation for QMS stakeholders.
§ Coach and guide SPE team members on proper implementation and use of the quality standards, including conducting formal training where appropriate.
§ Develop and lead QMS activities for requirements verification and validation.
§ Lead in the gathering of feedback on the QMS and work within the QMS-SPE team for resolutions.
§ Coach SPE engineers on QMS business process improvement efforts.
§ Ensure closed-loop sharing of lessons learned.
§ Drive continual improvement of the QMS.
Experience
§ Knowledge of systems engineering, process management
§ Knowledge of semiconductor, automotive, industry or other related manufacturing
§ Knowledge of Micron’s Quality Management System
§ Knowledge of requirements management
Process Management Professional
Qualifications
Required Education
§ Bachelor’s Degree ( Engineering )
§ 5+ years working within a QMS (Must)
§ Knowledge of quality standards for automotive industry
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office suite
