The Engagement and Culture Lead will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of our teams as Scout Motors continues to grow and evolve its culture. Reporting to the Director, Talent Development, this role will partner across the other People team functions as well as across the business to focus our efforts and drive forward initiatives that will impact engagement and inclusion.  

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Drive the creation of the company’s founding diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy by collaborating with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support execution of strategic initiatives throughout the business utilizing centralized project management
  • Develop guiding principles and tools for employee resource groups (ERGs) and support founding members in launching new groups
  • Drive effectiveness of ERGs through process and program creation such as budgeting and executive sponsorships
  • Collaborate across the People team to build and execute programming in support of the company strategy
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics function to interpret People data and further our use of employee and candidate data to measure initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Legal team on executing and reporting fair employment practices
  • Collaborate with the Strategy team on internal and external inclusion and community involvement initiatives
  • Participate in the company’s culture committee, suggesting and executing new ideas to drive community building and networking
  • Act as point person across the company for any questions or suggestions regarding the company’s culture initiatives
  • Subject matter expert to leadership on matters related to team culture and engagement

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. This role is planned to be based at either Scout Motors’ Columbia, South Carolina location or at a corporate location (to be determined) in early 2025. The final location to be further discussed and aligned with the successful candidate. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • 10+ years progressive experience leading diversity, equity, inclusion, and talent development programs
  • Experience driving strategic initiatives that lead to measurable results
  • Expert knowledge of current diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices and policies, particularly as they relate to local laws and regulations
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail
  • Experience launching and supporting employee resource groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and report on large data sets
  • Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to partner with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Jira or another project management tool preferred but not required
  • Experience within a manufacturing organization or working with large hourly populations preferred but not required

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $160,000-$180,000

Internal leveling code: IC7
