GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Assistant Director of Human Resources administers recruiting, talent acquisition, faculty assignments/contracts in coordination with Academic Affairs, personnel changes, job transfers, new employee orientation/onboarding, HRIS data entry, payroll, reports, benefits, employee engagement, and training and development. This role serves as a working human resources generalist and provides hands-on support for daily tasks, activities, and initiatives that align with the College's goals and objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer the full cycle recruiting and talent acquisition process from the job posting to hire, including review of the job description from the hiring manager.
• Enter and maintain personnel data in the personnel files and HRIS, including new hires, rehires, contingent workers, personnel changes, disposition candidates, requisitions, postings, faculty assignments, and contracts.
• Complete the accuracy and timeliness of data entry for I-9, payroll, benefits, and reporting purposes.
• Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation to welcome and integrate new employees.
• Act as the liaison between HR, hiring departments, and employees to provide support and guidance through the hiring and onboarding processes.
• Communicate regularly with hiring managers to provide status of positions, candidates, and hires.
• Participate in campus events such as, but not limited to, the annual commencement ceremony.
• Coordinate review of credentials, coordinate interviews, conduct reference and background checks, and calculate hire-in salaries to be reviewed and approved by the Executive Director of Human Resources and Chancellor.
• Responsible for development and implementation of recruiting strategies to achieve the most appropriate sourcing, evaluation, and selection of highly qualified and diverse talent.
• Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• In collaboration with the Executive Director of HR, assist with compensation, benefits, payroll, performance management, employee relations, leave, employee engagement, recognition, occupational health and safety, worker’s compensation, fee remission, tuition assistance, and training and development.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews College HR policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Assess faculty and staff training needs and collaborate and coordinate with leadership to align training with campus goals and initiatives.

• Build partnerships with community groups; may represent the college at community events, conferences, and through community organizations.

• Assist with preparing reports for presentation to senior leadership and the Campus Board of Trustees.

• Conduct audits. Run, review, and process appropriate reports as required. (Workday, payroll, personnel files)

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of human resources experience or related experience.
• Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service and effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Previous HRIS, recruiting, and training and development experience.

The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $55,000 (based on experience).
