Are you passionate about providing technical advice, building positive relationships and undertaking rewarding experiences? As a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT), you will be part of a dynamic and integrated team located in Montreal. Under the direction of the Team Lead, you will act as a resource person for a multidisciplinary team on assigned projects or mandates. You will be called upon to do diversified work with the possibility of perfecting his technical skills in several areas of engineering and project management.

During the first few months in our company, you will work with the engineering technical support group. During this period, you will support engineering mandates for refinery maintenance, which will allow you to become familiar with the ASME (American Society of Mechancial Engineers) codes used in our industry. Afterwards, you will join the project group, where you will be called upon to manage a portfolio of projects of various sizes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Fluent in French, with functional written and spoken English; please submit your resume in FRENCH

  • 0 to 5 years experience as an engineer in an industrial environment

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Technical knowledge and knowledge of applicable engineering standards is an asset (e.g. API, ASME Sec VIII, B31.3, etc.)

  • You are resourceful and versatile in problem solving and maintain a keen attention to detail

  • Ability to manage priorities with strong analytical skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; SAP is an asset

  • A valid driver's licence and an impeccable driving record


Responsibilities:

  • Execute specific and diversified engineering mandates in the field of industrial piping and pressure vessels

  • Safely and successfully manage a portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects on time and on budget using the Suncor project delivery methodology

  • Incorporate all aspects of safe and reliable operations into project design

  • Provide technical review and an "owner's perspective" for projects with affiliated and partner engineering firms

  • Provide timely technical support to operations, maintenance and construction groups

  • Ensure Suncor and industry standards and requirements are met


Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime, depending on business needs

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
