Mission & Main Objectives

Mission: Support Nissan’s External & Government Affairs activities in the Middle East & North Africa Region

Main Objectives:

  • Support the Middle East EGA lead in developing and growing relationships with key government and business stakeholders in the Middle East

  • Develop and manage key projects, partnerships and events in the region to support business objectives

  • Research, monitor and report on key policy and geopolitical developments in the region

  • Build relationships and maintain close alignment with local markets and cross-functional teams

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Support Middle East Manager with EGA External activities by taking a leadership role in events management – assessing events for the department, working on logistics, arranging internal events (i.e. F2F meetings with internal and external stakeholders for senior individuals).

  • Support manager with developing quality briefs, including geopolitical and policy background, coordinating business and market information, messaging and stakeholder mapping.

  • Support manager with internal and external communications relating to EGA engagements, including correspondences, debriefs and post-engagement reports.

  • Develop relationships and work effectively within the EGA function (NML counterparts, Central Team and AMIEO market teams) and cross functionally across key Middle East markets.

  • Coordinating CFT groups, meetings and approval processes relating to EGA projects and activities.

Country Specifics:

  • Middle East & North Africa, focusing on UAE, KSA and Egypt markets in the immediate term.

KPIs:

Support Middle East Manager in:

  • Delivering key requirements for ministerial/leadership meetings in KSA and UAE (3 meetings/country/year).

  • Involvement in securing business incentives/benefits with external stakeholders.

  • Developing UAE and KSA flagship projects for approval by key business and external stakeholders.

  • Delivering 1 industrial thought leadership roundtable event with key stakeholders in the UAE

  • Supporting the delivery of Middle East thought leadership plan, including 1 key speaking opportunity in UAE/KSA.

  • Supporting the kick-off and maintaining Middle East CFT group and regional leadership meeting, including 1 internal communication/showcase opportunity.

  • Delivering 1 value communication process/template.

  • Support in the delivery of internal culture and social team activities.

Background & Experience

  • 6-8 Years relevant experience

  • An understanding of Middle East and North African politics

  • Understanding of Executives & Top Management dynamics

  • Expertise in multi-tasking & prioritizing

Specific technical skills

  • Bilingual Arabic/English spoken and written skills is an asset

  • Planning & time Management

  • Project management skills and knowledge/prior experience in automotive or tech industries is a plus

  • Exceptional communication skills verbal and written is a base requirement

  • Experience of production of high-quality briefings for GM and senior executives is desirable

  • Preparation of regular reports and explanatory emails with excellent attention to detail
