Summary

Yahoo is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Content Operations Analyst. They will work closely with editorial, SEO, product, and data teams with the joint goal of creating world class commerce content to grow audiences. The content operations analyst will develop and drive content strategies, workflows and tools to support this goal

Responsibilities

  • Develop content strategies and playbooks for evergreen and event-based content 

    • Conduct keyword research and identify emerging trends

    • Understand audience strategy and user motivation

    • Document plans and present findings

    • Drive execution working with editorial, product and SEO teams

  • Spec, develop and implement tools and technologies to support content operations 

    • Develop processes and workflows to simplify content creation and drive traffic and engagement

    • Collaborate with BI, data and SEO teams 

  • Assist in ongoing reporting and participate in regular editorial meetings

    • Monitor performance dashboards, review data and provide actionable insights

  • Support during commerce events such as Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Requirements

  • Required

    • Bachelor's degree 

    • 3 - 5 yrs working with a media publisher or online publication supporting editorial production; this includes creating content plans, understanding the full content lifecycle, and experience with CMS 

    • 3 - 5 yrs experience translating (communicating) complex data results to non-technical audiences through data analysis and routine reporting

    • 3 - 5 yrs experience with commerce content through lead generation or affiliate marketing 

    • Advanced SEO knowledge

    • Experience with SEO content tools (GA, GSC, Semrush, Ahrefs, etc.), content management systems (WordPress, etc.), management tools (Airtable (great), Asana, etc.) and data handling tools (Looker, Tableau, SQL, etc.)

    • Advanced knowledge of formulas and functions on Google Sheets/Excel

    • Takes ownership of projects and tasks

    • Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure reporting is correct and presentations convey the necessary points with accuracy

    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, driving continuous enhancement of processes and content

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

    • Ability to communicate effectively with and across different teams

    • Mindset that blends data-based research with creativity

    • Presentation skills and on-the-fly thinking for collaborative discussions

  • Bonus

    • Knowledge/experience of SQL or other query language

    • Experience with data systems and mapping workflows 

    • Project management experience

    • Experience working with Airtable or other similar project management tools

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
