Senior Financial Analyst

Expedia Group’s Retail finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide operating expense financial management in support of our Marketing function. The customer-focused analyst will provide financial planning and analysis insight to enable solid business decision making, provide financial oversight of overhead spend, and drive overall shareholder value. This role will focus on forward looking business and operational planning, financial modelling, and analysis for several Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and other senior leaders in the Retail organization.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the key business partner supporting management and other key stakeholders with financial insight, operational support, and business analysis on Operational Expenditures (OPEX)

  • Develop and present monthly business reviews covering financial and non-financial metrics, including performance against stated objectives

  • Manage the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes for teams supported

  • Influence decision-making to ensure business partners meet the financial objectives of the Marketing organization

  • Develop business cases, post-mortem evaluations, identify process gaps, and drive improvements

  • Collaborate with members of other functional teams within the company, including Accounting, IT, Product Development, Portfolio Planning and P&L owners to evaluate cross-functional projects

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by business partners

  • Partner with finance teams throughout Expedia Group to share best practices and streamline processes

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting field or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role with emphasis on financial analysis

  • Budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and expense analysis experience

  • Curious, independent, and proactive thinker

  • Strong attention to detail & comfort in being a subject matter expert

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and with all levels of management

  • Highly proficient in Excel

  • Oracle, Hyperion, and Essbase experience strongly desired

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with working knowledge of accounting

  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Travel, E-commerce and Online Marketing Industry experience preferred

    The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

    Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
