The Business Continuity Executive is a people manager role responsible for the coaching and development of the Business Continuity Officers. The BCE is accountable for the day to day implementation of all components of Corporate Business Continuity Management Programs. This role reports to the Director of Business Continuity Management. This role collaborates with leadership and support heads to develop and implement plans to prepare, address, mitigate and execute during various business interruptions
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
People Manager function. Leads a team of Business Continuity Officers and provide guidance, development strategy and coaching
Oversees day to day business continuity operations.
Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.
Interpret government regulations and applicable codes to ensure compliance.
Coordinate, facilitate and oversee the organization wide development and implementation of the business continuity program.
Collaborates with IT leaders and staff to develop disaster recovery and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems in the event of natural disasters, viruses, and hackers.
Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and market disruptions.
Develop end-to-end BC testing process and provide sufficient subject matter expertise to the Business Continuity Consultants (BCC) and team to execute BC testing
Track and monitor issues identified during BC implementation, testing and validate resolution as specified in the policy and procedures.
Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event of a full or partial damage to infrastructure.
Document situation reports and lessons learned for actual incidents and exercises, and tracking of training.
Facilitates roadshows and awareness drives across the organization.
Works with health, safety, and security staff and local, state, and federal agencies to align the organization's emergency management plan with established best practices and community standards.
Performs ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree holder.
Business Continuity Certified or its equivalent training
Minimum of 2 years business continuity management experience OR 3-5 years operational / management experience with a sound understanding of BCP principles
Demonstrated expertise and track record in managing Business Continuity and leading a team of Business Continuity Officers.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of business continuity management practices
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation skills
