SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and assemblies, inspect parts and assemblies with precision measuring tools and equipment. 

REPORTING TO: Tool & Die Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all BAND-IT IDEX EHS policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit BAND-IT IDEX values of team, trust, and excellence, in interactions with fellow team members and the way you execute your work.
  • Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including but not limited to: mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Write basic code to program CNC machines.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document activities in CMMS system as well as through written and verbal communication.
  • Write setup procedures as required.
  • Help maintain parts Kanban in the shop and on the factory floor.
  • Work as part of the BAND-IT IDEX team by interfacing with various factory resources to execute the business plan. 
  • Support continuous improvement through the proposal and execution of solutions as well as participation in existing programs.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the basic requirements satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 or more years of experience in a high mix/low volume shop.
  • Adherence to all BAND-IT IDEX EHS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical instructions, codes, standards and specifications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Listed below are the preferred requirements for this position.  A candidate may meet one or more of these requirements. 

  • Experience working with CNC mills and lathes.  HAAS preferred.
  • Experience programming in Mastercam or SolidCAM

COMPENSATION:

Hourly position, hourly rate starting at $21.00
