The Environmental Compliance Manager is committed to supporting the Company by being responsible for permitting compliance, implementation of all environmental design and construction commitments, and overall environmental compliance for the project.

Job Description

Location

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. Relocation assistance is available.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees all environmental aspects of the project design.

  • Works closely with Construction Team to identify permitting requirements for critical path activities and ensure Construction Team are aware of potential timing restrictions.

  • Works closely with Technical Service Department to ensure all environmental issues are addressed and project schedules are met.

  • Involved in public consultation process as required.

  • Coordinates environmental sub-contractors to provide specialty input and direction on behalf of Water and Environmental Programs (WEP).

  • Analyzes and identifies leading and lagging trends to assist in environmental protection and compliance.

  • Direct the project’s environmental program. 

  • Inform project leadership team of environmental issues and (solutions) involving the building of the project.

  • Coordinates the instruction of operating personnel concerning the organization’s environment objectives.

  • Manages the environmental activities, monitor, document, and report environmental compliance for the project. 

  • Report any violation of failure to comply with requirements to the client. Identifies and implements corrective and preventative actions to ensure compliance.

  • Compiles quarterly and annual reports to update ongoing environmental processes and address current issues. 

  • Provide recommendations for implementation of corrective / preventative actions and suggest program improvements.

  • Participate in Corporate Audits.

  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies

At a minimum, the Environmental Compliance Manager  must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10+ years of proven and working experience with construction management, permitting compliance, and overall environmental compliance on large-scale complex transportation and construction projects experience. A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, or equivalent field of study, along with 10+ years of proven construction management, permitting compliance, and overall environmental compliance on large-scale complex transportation and construction projects experience is preferred.
