Overview of Position 

The Sr. Business Unit System Analyst is responsible for the support of electronic data interchange files from our insurance carriers, tables, or configurations used to drive the base functionality of our applications.  The Analyst’s primary role is to support the EDI intake team and HOIVerify team by recommending and implementing system enhancements and carriers’ data that promote efficiency, compliance and growth.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Analyze change requests received to determine the scope and how to apply the requested change to adjust mapping or development that impact our customers, lenders and insurance carriers.
  • Complete root cause analysis to identify bugs, system process gaps, and user actions that contributed to identified quality errors. Recommend improvements based on findings and present suggestions to functional business leads and product owners.
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation including user guides, installation guides, quick-reference guides, release notes, system configuration guides, and help files.
  • Monitor data volume and complete research on significant volume changes within data.
  • Managing projects and jumping in wherever is necessary to help improve the data.
  • Research, report and implement fixes for moderate complex problems/issues found with data.
  • Work directly with carriers and aggregators to research, fix, and implement discovery found with the data.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • 2 years’ experience in SQL and pulling data queries.
  • 2 year’s working in Black Knight (MSP).
  • 2 years business analyst experience or 2 years insurance industry experience 
  • Prior experience in product development using agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions and communicate actions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and work independently or as part of a project team to complete multiple tasks.
  • Flexible, quickly react to a business need or a change in priorities.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

  • Detailed knowledge of Insurance tracking and mortgage loan servicing.
  • Have a love of details but can zoom up to link the details to the big picture.
  • Experience in breaking down complex processes into individual decisions and steps.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools including the ability to develop process maps, presentations, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively perform system support duties including summarizing and explaining complex processes to all levels of Assurant’s organization and Assurant’s clients.
  • Comfortable working with one foot in the technology world and the other in the business. 
  • Prior experience in business or process analysis.
  • Be a quick learner and a willingness to put in the extra time to ensure understanding. 

Pay Range:

$71,300.00 - $119,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
