Context of Job:
The credit analyst will be responsible for the origination and monitoring of a credit portfolio that includes the production of Credit Initials, Annual Credit Reviews and Quarterly Reviews, developing financial analysis, cash flow projections, industry analysis and determining risk ratings.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor how economic and industry evolution and trends impact the repayment capacity of the customers and anticipate early warning signals with the aim of minimizing credit losses;
- Participate credit committees, prepare the material and engage in these meetings to actively transmit the quality and risks of the proposed credit, supporting approvers in the ultimate decisions;
- Perform customers due diligences together with the business;
- Support the business in the structuring and discussion of transactions involving credit risk, including management analysis, relationship strategy and risk-return adequacy of products;
- Contribute to developing enhancements of work flow management tool and participate portfolio stress tests and in systems user acceptance tests;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of policies, procedures and processes relevant to credit risk management;
- Perform accurate data input and be responsible for its integrity when building and monitoring credit facilities;
- Proactively engage in team meetings towards s constructive dialogue, sharing key points and summarizing takeaways.
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of financial statements and Brazilian GAAP
- Demonstrates ability to identify potential risk issues that need escalation
- Displays industry research capabilities, including key drivers, main risk and opportunities, strengths and weaknesses.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflicting ideas, to build relationships and to work with colleagues from different areas. Builds consensus.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to work independently.
- Exhibits deep knowledge of Commercial or Corporate banking product suite, in particular loans, trade finance, lease and credit derivatives and target markets
- Capacity to work under pressure and comply with tight deadlines.
- Manages time and priorities effectively, knows when to escalate issues.
- Experience with leading client due diligences.
- Displays a deep commitment and positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of Credit experience in credit analysis or risk management function for Commercial or Corporate banking.
- Bachelor’s degree in related areas: Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering.
- Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.
- Knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
