Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Manages departmental spend within budgets for both Walmart and Sam's Club by auditing, educating, and acting on supplier and carrier behavior as it impacts transportation spend (for example, routing, utilizing procedures); providing direct operational input into annual Optibid process for both carrier selection and data validation; controlling departmental expenses such as wages, overtime, and supplies; and responding on weekends and nights to collect suppliers and carriers regarding transportation spend. Manages team environment to inspire commitment to the company by conducting individual and team meetings with supervisor and associates to review progress of focus areas, personal, and team goals; taking ownership of results for self and team; and ensuring associate involvement in community events. Educates suppliers,buyers,and the replenishment team by solving problems related to efficient supply chain flow and developing flow plans for events (promotional events, emergency management, holidays); presenting information at supplier seminars; performing site visits to understand processes for internal and external customers; and providing information to team associates regarding inbound transportation strategies, initiatives, and trends in the transportation sector. Plans carrier capacity for all events between merchandising, replenishment, supplier, and carrier relations by collaborating with suppliers and merchants to determine resource needs; developing forecasts for loads to be shipped for Carrier Relations to purchase trucks; and ensuring supplier and carrier plans are executed and taking needed corrective action. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices. The annual salary range for this position is $42,587.00-$85,000.00
