Job Overview

What if you could build data products that directly fuel insight and decision‑making across a Fortune 500 wealth management firm? What if you could work with a modern data tech stack, collaborate with a high‑performing analytics team, and contribute to platforms that serve thousands of financial advisors? If you're ready to make an impact and help us accelerate analytics innovation, this is the job for you!

The Client Analytics Team is seeking a Data Engineer with hands‑on experience in building and automating Python-based ETL pipelines, particularly using Flask and Apache Airflow. This role will focus on designing, orchestrating, and maintaining data pipelines that integrate data from Snowflake, flat files, and public APIs. You’ll work closely with analysts, data scientists, and product stakeholders to ensure trustworthy, production‑grade data delivery. While you don’t need to be a generalist in all engineering domains, deep experience with our core stack will allow you to quickly make an impact. This role is fully remote, with quarterly travel required to San Diego, CA or Fort Mill, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Python Flask ETL microservices and automated data pipelines.

  • Develop, schedule, and monitor workflows using Apache Airflow.

  • Implement data ingestion from diverse sources, including Snowflake, flat files, cloud storage, and public APIs.

  • Partner with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable, well‑structured datasets.

  • Optimize pipeline performance, ensure data quality, and support production stability.

  • Contribute to DevOps best practices, including CI/CD workflows, testing, logging, and observability.

  • Document processes, data flows, and system dependencies for operational clarity.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience designing and building ETL processes in Python.

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with:

    • Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.

    • Integrating data from Snowflake, flat files, and REST/JSON public APIs.

    • SQL, data modeling, and production data engineering practices.

  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating effectively across distributed teams; quarterly travel is required.

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem‑solving ability with a focus on reliability and scalability.

  • Ability to break down ambiguous requirements into clear, technical solutions.

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical partners.

Preferences

  • Experience working in financial services or wealth management environments.

  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
