Job Description
As the Area Managing Director, you will serve as the dynamic second-in-command within our main area office, playing a pivotal role in steering our mission forward. Your leadership will be instrumental in not only meeting but surpassing revenue goals and fostering a culture of success within your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Drive significant growth in fundraising and fiscal KPIs, ensuring alignment with the budget for your assigned area.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a team of dedicated people leaders and individual contributors, inspiring them to achieve excellence in fundraising events and campaigns.
- Business Development: Expand a vital book of business, encompassing individual donors, corporations, and high-value volunteers, with a knack for securing six-figure gifts.
- Volunteer Engagement: Recruit, train, and collaborate with executive-level volunteers and committees, managing multiple active event volunteer committees.
- Fundraising Innovation: Craft and implement strategies to enhance corporate and individual fundraising initiatives, with a focus on securing significant five and six-figure contributions.
- Donor Relations: Manage donor leads effectively, working closely with the Prospect Development team to develop compelling donor proposals and maintain up-to-date contact information.
- Staff Development: Oversee the day-to-day management and professional growth of your staff, including performance evaluations and staffing adjustments as necessary. This position will directly supervise 3-4 individual contributors with programs and initiatives in Metro-Atlanta, Savannah and Columbus, Georgia.
- Market Research: Stay abreast of market trends and developments within your territory to identify new business opportunities.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct monthly reviews to pinpoint areas requiring attention and implement corrective actions.
- Travel Requirements: Be prepared to travel 30-40% of the year, including occasional weekends.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in general management, public relations, and strategic planning.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of office procedures and operations, with hands-on experience in fundraising activities.
- Ability to articulate complex instructions clearly and maintain strong internal/external relationships.
- Proficiency in data processing applications.
- Developing program budgets and forecasts.
- Developing strong event committees and advisory councils.
- Tracking market analytics and identifying trends and potential areas of opportunity.
- Oral and written communication.
- High wealth donor engagement and moves management.
- A track record of progressive management responsibilities, including supervision, budgeting, and organizational development.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience exceeding 8 years in a related field.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this role.
