Overview

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will significantly impact the way we market, sell, and build our product. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will lead a dynamic team of product marketers and collaborate closely with the go-to-market and product teams. Your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our product in a competitive market.

Responsibilities  

  • Plan and Execute Product Marketing Strategy: Develop comprehensive strategies that encompass product messaging and positioning, use-case marketing, launch marketing, sales enablement, and competitive and market research.
  • Product Messaging and Positioning: Craft compelling product messages that resonate with our technical audience and differentiate our products in the market.
  • Product Launches: Lead product launches, managing everything from ideation to internal reviews to external placement, and collaborate with Demand Generation on promotion.
  • Sales Enablement: Equip sales teams with the tools and programs necessary to increase win rates, including training and support.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Provide insights into the market and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Product Roadmaps: Work with Product Management to create product roadmaps, ensure product/market fit, and generate product assets.
  • Innovative Campaigns: Drive innovative social media and digital campaigns to increase brand awareness.
  • Research and Analysis: Perform research to understand our competitive landscape and inform competitive sales strategies. Develop and maintain competitive landscape content, including battle cards, website pages, presentations, demos, and other assets.
  • Collaboration: Develop close and collaborative partnerships with Sales and Product Management teams.
  • Reporting: Identify, own, and report on product-marketing KPIs to executive leadership.

Qualifications 

  • Experience: 5+ years of product marketing experience for developer-focused products, with 3+ years of management experience. Prior experience in data management, analytics, and SaaS is essential.
  • Technical Background: Strong technical background with hands-on experience in data and analytics.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of telling compelling stories that resonate with both technical and business audiences.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and develop strategic plans.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Comfort working in a fast-paced (startup) environment with multiple time-sensitive projects and a high degree of autonomy.
  • Passion and Motivation: A passion for marketing deeply technical products, a burning desire to impact company growth meaningfully, and a self-starter attitude with a sense of urgency.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, especially across marketing, product management, and sales channels.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field.
