A Brief Overview
The Vice President, Deal Implementation Lead drives the end‑to‑end implementation of complex insurance/reinsurance transactions, coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless transitions from deal execution to business‑as‑usual. The role is responsible for building comprehensive client implementation plans, regularly reporting progress and outcomes to both internal stakeholders and clients, and ensuring on time, accurate implementations through disciplined reconciliation, timely escalation, and effective cross-functional action to maintain data integrity and minimize variance between pricing assumptions and actual experience. Success is measured by rapid resolution of data discrepancies within contractual windows, clear stakeholder communications, and consistently high client satisfaction. The individual clearly communicates priorities based on a deep understanding of contractual provisions, builds scalable processes and governance, captures lessons learned, and institutionalizes a repeatable playbook that accelerates implementation of future deals.
What you will do
Develop, maintain, and communicate comprehensive client implementation plans, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are clearly defined and tracked.
Regularly report progress, outcomes, and key metrics to both internal stakeholders and clients, providing transparency throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams (business development, pricing, administration, valuation, legal, finance, and other corporate partners) to deliver seamless transitions from deal execution to business as usual.
Ensure on-time, accurate implementations by proactively identifying risks, managing timelines, and driving disciplined reconciliation and timely escalation of issues.
Oversee data integrity throughout the implementation process, including the transition from pricing data to actual data across administration, finance, valuation, inforce management, and IT.
Analyze and minimize variance between pricing assumptions and actual experience, driving effective cross-functional action to resolve discrepancies.
Engage directly with clients to address and resolve data discrepancies within contractual windows, escalating unresolved issues and coordinating alternative solutions as needed.
Document lessons learned across functional teams and contribute to the ongoing refinement of a repeatable playbook to accelerate and de-risk future implementations.
Partner with business development colleagues to facilitate client negotiations during implementation, ensuring effective communication of complex issues to clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience. required
10+ Years of insurance, reinsurance, or finance experience, with exposure to large/complex transactions and cross-functional stakeholder management. required
5+ Years specializing in one or more of: financial reporting (Stat/GAAP), re/insurance regulation & structures, actuarial principles/modeling, investments, capital management. required
5+ Years project management/project lead experience required
Expert understanding of direct life insurance and reinsurance markets. required
Advanced understanding of GAAP, Statutory, and tax accounting and financial reporting required
Highly advanced ability to investigate, analyze and solve complex problems/issues required
Expert skills in managing multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility required
Expert level of investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills required
Expert oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all associates and management at all levels. required
Expert ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies. required

Compensation Range:
$180,220.00 - $268,400.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
