Position Overview

Join the dynamic Middle & Back Office team at Summit TX Capital, a multi-strategy, equity-oriented market neutral / low net hedge fund. As an Operations Analyst, you play a pivotal role in supporting Summit TX Capital operations, collaborating closely with internal accounting and trading teams, and building strong relationships with external administrators, prime brokers, and other key stakeholders. The role reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Support and Execution Oversight: Collaborate with traders to support trade execution by ensuring proper allocation, clearing, settlement and post-trade life cycle processes. Address operational issues related to trade mismatches or settlement failures with counterparties. Spearhead the maintenance and enhancement of our Order Management System (OMS), ensuring accuracy in trade bookings and security setups.

Portfolio Finance: Manage financing relationships with prime brokers. Oversee inventory and collateral optimization efforts to minimize portfolio costs, maximize returns, mitigate risk and ensure efficient capital usage.

Valuation Control: Investigate and resolve PnL discrepancies. Provide detailed explanations of PnL drivers to the fund portfolio management and investments teams.

Strategic Collaboration & Process Improvement: Engage with internal and external partners to streamline operations, mitigate exceptions, and drive long-term strategic projects. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and introduce new efficiencies.

Regulatory & Compliance Support: Play an instrumental role in regulatory filings, including Form PF, and ensure compliance with KYC protocols. Actively contribute to the establishment of new funds/accounts in collaboration with legal teams.

Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison across departments (Investments, Risk, Accounting, Legal/Compliance, Investor Relations) to facilitate the resolution of ad-hoc requests and enhance operational effectiveness.

 

Qualifications

Professional Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a knack for operational innovation. A proactive, independent thinker who excels in time management, meeting tight deadlines, and applying logical reasoning to analyze complex situations. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.

Technical Proficiency: Quick learner of vendor platforms, trading, and administrator systems, with a strong foundation in MS Office, particularly Excel. Ability to apply analytical thinking to troubleshoot system and process challenges. Prior experience in trading systems and familiarity with multi-PM platforms is advantageous but not essential.

Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Operations Engineering, or a related field (or currently pursuing degree with expected graduation within 6 months). Prior experience in Hedge Fund Operations, Financial Services Operations, or Hedge Fund Accounting is preferred but not required. Demonstrated interest in financial services through internships, coursework, or relevant projects is a plus. A team player who is mission-oriented and demonstrates a high level of responsibility, operational excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.
