Due to growth, we are seeking a Post-Closing Quality Control Underwriting Team Lead.

*This is an onsite position requiring you to be in person at our Indian Land, SC headquarters 4 days a week (Monday thru Thursday).

What You Need To Know
  • To continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements and making recommendation for improvement as appropriate.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to team of underwriters and analysts to complete their file reviews
  • Assist with escalations from Operations and Sales partners
  • Analyze, generate and distribute reporting on a monthly or ad-hoc basis to identify risk and trends for Management, Investors, Agencies, Internal and External parties
  • Develop, implement and maintain official system of recordation for tracking QC deficiencies and remediation efforts
  • Work closely with QC Director, Credit Risk, Operations Leadership, Investors, and Agencies
  • Perform process level assessments of origination production
  • Monitor Underwriter and Analyst pipeline to ensure production is meeting published SLAs
  • Manage workflow and complete file reassignment as necessary
  • Ensure Organization’s polices and procedures are upheld from an overall organizational standpoint  
  • Approve timecards and time off requests as needed
  • Complete audits of underwriter and analyst files and provide feedback as necessary
  • Conduct monthly team meetings and team huddles as necessary
  • Disseminate product/program updates to the team as they are distributed
  • Serve as a mentor to underwriters and analysts and provide feedback for growth, development, and career advancement
  • Complete other tasks and ad-hoc projects as assigned
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 10 years previous underwriting experience in Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Bond programs
  • Previous underwriting leadership experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent management of multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Presents self in professional manner and possesses the ability to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills; listens well, works well within a team environment, ability to collaborate
  • Team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to clearly articulate deficiencies in a file in Process Unity as well as verbally
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to plan and organize tasks and change priorities as needed

  • Dependable- consistently arrives to work on time, follows instructions, responds well to management requests, etc.
  • Strong computer skills- including all Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Display servant leadership skills as part of Movement’s mission and vision, while still meeting the Organization’s objectives
  • High emotional intelligence in order to work with differing personalities and behaviors amongst the team
  • Ability to work extended hours (evenings and weekends, if needed)

  • Proficiency in Mortgage Director preferred

The expected salary range for this position is between:

$74,400.00 - $119,000.00

The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
