Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes has an exciting opportunity for a Decorative Interior Repair Person to join our team supporting Hourly Manufacturing and Quality in Everett, Washington.

As s a skilled Repair Technician for interior aircraft parts and assemblies! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials, including fiberglass, plastic, and composites. Your expertise will be crucial in reworking and repairing these components at different stages of the aircraft assembly process. Whether you prefer working in a shop or factory setting, we have locations that suit your preference. Position Responsibilities:

  • Obtain daily work assignments from lead/supervisor or call sheet.
  • Perform thorough walk-through inspections of aircraft interiors to identify and document visible defects.
  • Repair interior defects identified by other mechanics or coordinate with responsible shops for specialized repairs (e.g., fiberglass).
  • Utilize drawings to locate specific work areas, including airplane number, section number, and 3-point location.
  • Disassemble parts and remove defective interior trim parts using appropriate hand tools.
  • Clean surfaces with solvents prior to applying Bondo, decorative material, or paint.
  • Apply various compounds, primers, adhesives, and finishes as specified by drawings, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with approved procedures.
  • Fit and assemble detail components (e.g., brackets, SL screw inserts, trim) to repaired parts according to drawings.
  • Paint parts or perform touch-ups using a Preval sprayer, ensuring proper texture and color match.
  • Incorporate changes and rework materials (e.g., vinyl wallpaper, graphite composites, plastics, rubber) based on engineers' specifications, OSIP, NCO, and non-conformance documents.
  • Remove mars and scratches from brushed metal surfaces using sandpaper or Scotch-Brite and polish.
  • Seal edges of repair areas using silicon sealant mixed with paint/ink for accurate color matching.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing a respirator and proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Successfully complete an eye examination for color perception.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  •   1+ years of experience following oral and written instructions.
  • Accurately differentiate between Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue etc. colors.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • ·Enrollment in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school, community and technical college academic program.
  • ·1+ years of experience working with vinyl wallpaper, composites/non-metallic materials.
  • 1+ years of experience with aerospace or automotive spray painting.

Typical Education/Experience:

High School Diploma and/or General Education Diploma (GED)
