SUMMARY
Q2 is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Software Developer to join our Engineering Development group. You will work individually and collaboratively to develop, implement, and support custom solutions across the Q2 platform. You will design and build components for both front-end and back-end systems, support internal and external testing, and deploy code to production environments. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, enjoy tinkering, and are comfortable rapidly learning to engineer solutions using a mix of open technologies and proprietary frameworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work across frontend and backend components to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Design and implement REST APIs for seamless third-party vendor integration.
  • Translate business requirements and user stories into secure, scalable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and senior engineers to understand and deliver on expectations.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and quality.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and integration issues.
  • Use Git-based SCM systems (GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab) and tools like Jira and Confluence to manage code and workflows.
  • Engage in sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies with a mindset of ownership and accountability.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, with relevant software development experience, up to 2 years.
  • Knowledge of basic programming concepts and at least one programming language.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of RESTful APIs.
  • Experience/Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL.
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce platform or willingness to ramp up quickly.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
  • Interest or experience in the banking domain is a plus.
  • Experience using IDEs like Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
