Title: Sr Facilities UPW and WWT Systems Manager
Job Summary and Description:
The Boise Sr Facilities UPW and WWT Systems Manager at Micron is responsible for overseeing the management of the Boise UPW and WWT Systems department. This includes operations and maintenance, and engineering for the existing Technology Development fab and the new ID1 high volume production fab. Scope covers ultra-pure water, process wastewater treatment, water reclaim and aquafer recharge systems that directly and indirectly support all of the Boise campus and remote sites. Wastewater scope includes a zero liquid discharge wastewater system that reclaims all wastewater for reuse back to the fab. Manages an engineering team responsible for base build & equipment installations. Team provides design engineering support for existing system modification, upgrades and new equipment installations. Responsible for the overall department budget, system operational compliance to specifications, people development and continuous improvement.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality:
Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
Ensures teams utilize and review job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety.
Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with stakeholders
Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment.
Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Operates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Compliance:
Ensures area leaders comply with applicable local, state and federal agency rules and regulatory requirements
Ensures area leaders comply with Micron policies and external quality and EHS certification standards
Coordinates with internal environmental, safety and legal teams to ensure area policies are accurate and clear
Area Performance:
Implements asset integrity programs to ensure the reliability of the facilities operations in a compliant, safe manner based on a total quality approach
Ensures area managers develop standardized processes, metrics and bench-marking programs
Utilizes available resources to meet company and departmental goals
Utilizes metrics to measure and improve performance of systems, equipment that the organization
Oversees department budgets and drive cost savings and efficiency program
Ensures area financial budgeting, forecasting, and expenditures for operations and projects are accurate
Ensures area leaders review trends and end of life data to determine expense budget and capital needs
Develops long term improvement strategies by monitoring area processes and systems
Makes disciplined business-driven decisions by gathering data and team feedback
Ensures each area manages and maintains proper procedures and documentation
Ensures each area deploys and communicates new initiatives, goals and expectations
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintains communication with other area managers to ensure facilities and production needs are being addressed
Establishes regular working interaction with peers from all Micron sites and alignment to Global standards
Develops trust with customers by providing expert assistance and advice
Establishes and communicates long term strategic goals and direction
Team Development and Performance Management:
Conducts performance management and professional development of area leaders
Knows Micron Technology policies and partners closely with HR
Develops challenging performance targets for the organization and communicates line of sight goals to leaders and individual contributors
Leads by example, demonstrating Micron values when performing business and interacting with leaders and team members
Ensures each area creates a positive and effective culture
Fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and growth within team
Establishes a succession plan for all critical positions
Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of semiconductor and facilities systems
Knowledge of state/local/federal requirements and policies that impact the organization
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Proven ability to drive multiple complex projects to completion
Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively
Proven ability to accurately analyze and interpret data to make data-driven decisions
Strong conflict management and negotiation skills
Proven ability to develop and coach team members
Proven ability to mentor and successfully manage the performance of direct and eventual reports
Demonstrated ability to partner successfully with other groups and build strong peer relationships
Demonstrated ability to develop and promote technical expertise
Proven ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success/failure
Proven ability to identify, understand, and mitigate risks before making critical decisions
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
5 years of Facilities experience
5 years of leadership experience
Experience in semiconductor front end manufacturing preferred
