Position Overview

Autodesk Consulting is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Consultant to work with our important customers to develop customized and configured solutions for their Civil and Infrastructure business. You will work directly with customers to understand their Autodesk product customization needs and develop custom solutions built on Autodesk Civil / Infrastructure Products. You will report to The Manager of Consulting Services. The position is a remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to determine breadth and depth of Autodesk product(s) customization and configuration needs

  • Analyze Customer requirements and contribute to the configuration of Autodesk products accordingly

  • Produce written specifications to capture our requirements for proposed solutions and configuration activities

  • Work individually and with internal team members to develop level of effort estimations

  • Work with internal resourcing managers to establish work plans for projects for self and supporting team members

  • Development of system architecture, detailing system design, and documenting implementation plans

  • Participate in all phases of software implementation projects

  • Deliver customized and configured solutions on top of Autodesk core products in the Civil/Infrastructure domain

  • Build credibility at all levels with clients and establish a problem-solving relationship with clients and colleagues

  • Identify business requirements, functional design, process design (workflow mapping) testing and training

  • Contribute to Autodesk IP and assets through methods development and sales collateral

  • Lead training and adoption efforts for customers

  • Work with team to identify process and technology improvement areas to enable team to better meet customer needs and scale

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering, computer science, or related field

  • 3-5 years software development process experience with Autodesk AEC products including AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Plant 3D, InfraWorks and/or Revit

  • Proficiency in Autodesk's Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and other relevant Autodesk's Civil and Infrastructure software

  • Strong programming skills, particularly in languages such as C#

  • Knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API) for Autodesk products

  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and concepts

  • Experience in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

  • Understanding of civil engineering and infrastructure concepts

  • Familiarity with data management and integration for Autodesk solutions

  • Knowledge of agile development methods and tools

  • Up to 50% travel to customer locations as needed but typically is less

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience

  • Knowledge of cloud solutions like Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud

  • Experience with version control systems/Git

  • Skills as a Consultant comfortable working with external and your team alike

  • Excellent vision and imagination

  • Experience designing, develop and test workflows for and implement practical business solutions

  • Familiar with understanding and documenting current state processes

  • Embrace new ideas, methods, insights and quickly put into practice

  • Support Account and project planning discussions

  • Excellent skills in resolving customer problems

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $89,900 and $155,100. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
