Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Yield Enhancement Engineer to be responsible for providing yield analysis for next-generation Micron products. In this meaningful role, you will participate in the identification and communication of yield issues. Assist with the root cause analysis for process deviations. Characterize probe, parametric, and fabrication data through electrical and visual characterization to identify the sources of failure on memory storage devices. Provide an analysis of process experiments, assist with identification of yield excursions. Support the transfer of physical failure analysis processes into production. This includes supporting Yield Enhancement and analysis teams around the world and training them in the latest techniques and methods of production.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with other engineering teams to resolve yield issues.
  • Support and develop new tools and techniques to localize and identify device failures.
  • Recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process issues to appropriate teams.
  • Attend meetings and present results to Product Development and Process Integration teams.
  • Possibly travel to manufacturing sites during transfer of next-generation processes, using the latest physical failure techniques

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate understanding of device physics as well as familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and the fabrication processes areas involved.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, high motivation, and a strong work ethic so you will be able to work independently once trained.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Digital literacy, including a confirmed knowledge of Windows, Linux, JMP statistic software, C++, Python, and Microsoft Office.
  • Theory and/or operation of scanning electron microscopes (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), Transmission emission microscopes (TEM), and Elemental Analysis (EDS, EELS).

Additional skills preferred but not required:

  • One-to-three years’ work experience with volatile/non-volatile memory.
  • Knowledge of memory architecture and cell operation and related topics.
  • Higher Level Education in one of the following subject areas: Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, or related field. Or experience in the above subject areas with 5 years' industry-related experience.
