Job Description\Accountabilities: 

The Investment Advisor (Phone) is focused on the mass affluent customer segment with responsibilities for retaining and increasing market share through consolidation and acquisition of investment assets with a strong emphasis on risk management. Through ongoing relationship management, conducted over the telephone and other electronic channels, the IA role offers sound advice with a focus on retirement and investment planning by assisting clients in identifying goals, potential barriers and recommending appropriate solutions The role will also identify opportunities to refer clients to other TD partners, i.e. Retail and Wealth Management Partners.  

  

Accountabilities include: 

  • Execute trades, cash movement, and frequent purchase plan instructions from clients 

  • Ensure account maintenance, operations, and escalations are managed and resolved in a timely manner 

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, TD operating policies and procedures 

  • Conduct necessary due diligence activities (i.e. Know Your Client updates) to support ongoing investment process and suitability reviews 

  • Manage the client base for long term profitability, understanding the needs of clients and delivering products and services which fit their needs 

  • Collaborate with other areas of TD to deliver a One TD approach and legendary client experience 

  • Improve client retention and loyalty by contributing to improving the team, regional & national LEI scores 

  • Ensure proper handling of all client issues/complaints utilizing the Client Problem Resolution Process 

  • Provide each client with a completed Progress Review within 90-days of the original engagement date 

  • Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, TD Wealth and industry requirements, policies, procedures, controls, codes, and guidelines of conduct, service standards, securities laws and regulations. 

  

Job Requirements 

  • University degree diploma preferred 

  • Trilingual (English, Cantonese and Mandarin) an asset but not required 

  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset but not required 

  • Licensed to sell Mutual Funds and 3-5 years industry experience 

  • Successful candidates will be required to be licensed as a Registered Representative (RR) with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO)  

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while delivering a high level of client service 

  • Professional team player with strong telephone relationship management skills 

  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of the benefits of asset accumulation 

  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written 

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to respond to client inquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner 

  • Ability to ensure a seamless client transition from existing advice relationship 

  • Proficient with firm software & MS Office Suite
