What The Role Is

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Asset Management Integration and Compliance, the Analyst will assist the team in the commercial integration of wind, solar, and battery storage projects located across several ISO’s.  Asset Management, Integration, and Compliance serves as the commercial liaison between various Clearway groups such as Construction, Development, Origination, Portfolio Finance, O&M, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the assets in late-stage development and/or construction achieve commercial operations and are set up for efficient management and compliance of project agreements. The Senior Analyst of Asset Management, Integration, and Compliance will help implement best practices in integrating projects, strengthen Clearway’s project execution model, and standardize compliance practices and incentive programs for Asset Management.   The Analyst will work closely with internal Clearway teams and build trusted relationships with external partners. 

Location will be Scottsdale, AZ, San Francisco, CA, or San Diego, CA.

What You'll Be Doing

Due Diligence on New Project Investments:

  • Support project evaluations, project agreements, contract reviews, and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of acquisitions, divestitures, and/or investments in company-developed projects.

Financial & Performance Management:

  • Work with a team on the development of prudent assumptions for revenues, expenses, and capital expenditures for long-term operating budgets and/or underwriting assumptions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support plant optimization, project integration, and performance improvement, and establish compliance practices and procedures within Asset Management.

Commercial Management & Administration:

  • Compile compliance requirements within project and partnership agreements, ensuring that all obligations and interests are successfully administered within Asset Management or other teams.
  • Establish trusted relationships with customers, partners, or joint asset owners, ISOs, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support team members in bringing commercial issues and associated strategies to resolution with counterparties.
  • Assist team members in negotiating and/or amending contracts to ensure achievement of commercial operations, compliance with performance metrics, and risk mitigation.

Strategic Initiatives & Project Integration:

  • Support Clearway’s strategic growth plan by ensuring project evaluations, reviews, and due diligence are executed with a high degree of quality and consistency.
  • Support corporate initiatives to strengthen enterprise-wide processes and/or systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of information-sharing platforms and work management systems.
  • Develop and execute best practices and procedures for project commercial readiness and integration into Clearway’s mid and back-office functions.

Leadership:

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in financial analysis, business/market analysis, project valuation, project/business administration, project management, project development, asset management, compliance management, contract administration, deal execution, project finance, energy and environmental market analysis, or other analysis or commercial role.
  • Experience reading regulatory or legal documents.
  • Ability to read, translate, and interpret complex agreements or regulations, understanding of legal terminology.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data and reports.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business and financial savvy with an understanding of accounting, finance, and valuation concepts.
  • An ability to perform at a high level in a matrixed organization, working in inter-departmental teams to achieve objectives.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience manipulating and managing large amounts of structured and unstructured data. Prior experience with the use of formulas in Excel (i.e., VLOOKUP, sumproduct, sumif, index/match, conditional formatting, etc.) and creating reports from scratch.
  • Continuous Improvement & learning mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to company or project locations.

What Would Be Nice

  • Experience working in the power industry is preferred.
  • Experience managing external client relationships is preferred.
  • Renewable energy industry experience in solar, wind, geothermal or hydro.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with energy markets, and major energy industry players and regulatory bodies.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$85,000$110,000 USD
