Job Description:

As a SAP BASIS architect, Candidate is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports SAP systems within an organization. Here are some common roles and responsibilities associated with this position:

System Architecture Design: Design the technical architecture for SAP systems, including servers, databases, networks, and other infrastructure components. This involves understanding the organization's requirements and aligning the architecture with best practices and industry standards.

Installation and Configuration: Responsible for installing and configuring SAP software, including the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, databases (such as SAP HANA, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server), and other related components.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Optimizing system performance is a critical aspect of the role. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve performance and scalability.

Security Management: Ensuring the security of SAP systems is essential to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. This involves implementing security measures such as user authentication, authorization, encryption, and security patches.

Backup and Recovery: Implementing robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in case of system failures or disasters.

System Upgrades and Patch Management: Managing system upgrades and applying patches to keep the SAP environment up to date with the latest features, bug fixes, and security updates.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity in case of hardware failures, natural disasters, or other disruptions.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring system health, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and providing support to end-users and other IT teams.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Documenting system configurations, procedures, and best practices, and sharing knowledge with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of SAP systems.

Vendor Management: Collaborating with SAP and other technology vendors to resolve technical issues, implement new solutions, and stay updated on product roadmaps and updates.

Project Management: Leading or participating in projects related to SAP system implementations, upgrades, migrations, or other initiatives.

Training and Mentoring: Providing training and mentoring to junior team members and end-users to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of SAP systems.
