Boise EHS is looking for a Process Safety Engineer (PSE) intern who can support implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) elements for Specialty Gas and Chemical Systems with focus on Semiconductor high-volume manufacturing application.

As a PSE intern at Micron Technology, Inc., you will gain exposure to the development, implementation, and sustainment of the PSM Program for Semiconductor sector. Micron PSE intern will work with a team of process safety engineers in a variety of initiatives sought at identifying, mitigating, and managing risk at the new Boise site. The PSE intern will be encouraged to delivery tasks on schedule and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team throughout the site and organization to achieve a world class process safety environment.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Participate on PSM projects or program initiatives
  • Integrity, positivity, and the desire to learn
  • Thrive in a dynamic, multi-team fast-paced, rapid development environment as well as work independently
  • Complete of all work within established timelines/parameters
  • Attend Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for selected systems
  • Support collection of Process Safety Information (PSI) documentation
  • Engage with Process Safety Engineers to supervise closure of PHA action items and timelines
  • Support engineering teams through process safety audits and process safety calculations for new equipment
  • Presentation to senior level staff at the conclusion of the internship

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Basic understanding of schematic drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s) or similar technical renderings
  • Basic background in process safety engineering calculations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Experience with PowerBI and Power Automate is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing BS, MS or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related areas with focus on Process Safety
  • Must be a current student, must not graduate before September 2025
