Risk Manager Job Specification

We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our Risk Management team, where you will play a key role in the success of Nord Pool and Euronext Group

Nord Pool is part of the Euronext Group and Europe's leading power market, offering trading, clearing, settlement and associated services in both day-ahead and intraday markets across 16 European countries.

Role and responsibilities 

The Risk Manager will be responsible for management of Nord Pool’s risk profile in addition to supporting the second line Risk Management of other business within the family of Diversified Services at Euronext (including but not limited to Nord Pool, Euronext FX, Commodities, Finance, ESG, etc.). Responsibilities for this role will include: 
 

First line risk management (Nord Pool)

• Support and manage Nord Pool’s collateral and trading models.
• Act as the escalation point for issues arising from Nord Pool’s clearing and settlement processes.
• Work directly with risk owners across Nord Pool to monitor risks and enhance mitigation measures.
• Analyse operational processes and activities to identify and assess risks and controls within Nord Pool.
• Contribute to ad hoc priorities related to first line risk management and reporting to Nord Pool Executive Leadership Team.

Second line risk management (Euronext Group Diversified Services)

• Contribute to the risk profile of activities within the Diversified Services perimeter.
• Collaborate with key functions across Diversified Services to understand and measure risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to corporate risk reports for Group management and board of directors.
• Conduct ongoing review of existing methodologies, policies and best practices, provide recommendations for improvement and support implementation of changes.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators and promote risk awareness across the Group Diversified Services.
• Support risk analysis on strategic initiatives within Diversified Services.
• Analyse processes and activities to identify and assess risks (operational, financial and strategic) and controls within the Euronext Diversified Services perimeter.
   

Qualifications & experience 

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of professional working experience from risk management, finance, electricity or commodity trading is required. 
• Master’s degree in finance, economics or equivalent.  
• Knowledge of power market regulations would be an advantage.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis. Good knowledge of Power Point and Word.
• Fluent communication skills in English, both written and oral, are a prerequisite. Another European language would be a plus.

Candidate Profile :  

Able to deliver high level of accuracy under tight deadlines. You are expected to quickly gather and analyse relevant facts when cases are escalated from Clearing Operations, and then develop factual recommendations.
