We are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. In this unique position, you will help establish a new pharmaceutical division and spearhead the launch of its inaugural product. This is your opportunity to evaluate market potential, craft innovative marketing and sales strategies in collaboration with Global and local teams and bring these strategies to life through impactful execution. You will take ownership of the product P&L, adapt global marketing materials for Canada, and guide a cross-functional team to deliver a successful product launch in Mississauga, Canada. In this role a typical day will include:
Leading and overseeing the product launch process, effectively managing cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Sales, Training, Finance, and Legal teams.
Developing and implementing strategic plans for the new product launch, encompassing positioning, messaging, and impactful promotional campaigns.
Analyzing and leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to uncover actionable insights and proactively address evolving customer and market trends.
Partnering with external agencies and collaborators to create compelling creative assets and marketing materials that resonate with target audiences.
Driving budget planning and allocation, ensuring the optimization of resources to achieve launch objectives efficiently and effectively.
Engaging with local and global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to foster product advocacy and establish momentum for the brand within Canada.
Monitoring competitive landscapes to craft a uniquely differentiated brand proposition to stand out in the marketplace.
Taking a proactive role in salesforce development, including determining appropriate size and segmentation strategies.
Equipping the Sales team for success by providing training on product science, brand messaging, and competitive positioning.
Defining and tracking KPIs to measure performance, optimize promotional channels, and maximize impact across key tactics.
Forecasting sales, market share and supply, driving excellence in meeting internal targets and ensuring operational readiness.
Leading cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across Marketing, Sales, Global teams, and Operations.
Leading financial planning and analysis activities, supporting a future $50M revenue stream and managing a $5M annual budget.
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Salesforce, and key industry data platforms such as IQVIA as part of your daily workflow to support strategic planning, data analysis, and stakeholder communication.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree (Bachelor of Commerce or B.Sc)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
Minimum 8 years in pharmaceutical industry with at least 3 years in Marketing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Health Sciences, Marketing, Biochemistry, or Strategic Marketing.
2-3 years pharmaceutical sales experience.
Eye care experience is an asset but not required.
Bilingual English/French.
Talented in developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Solid working knowledge of Canadian healthcare environment and evolving landscape.
Solid knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing principles and techniques including digital knowledge.
Ability to translate strategies into actionable and realistic marketing actions.
Aptitude with both qualitative and quantitate data to distill insights for action.
Robust ability to plan, manage and execute multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
