As a Master Data Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing data management strategies, collaborating with other teams to understand their data needs, and driving initiatives to improve data quality and accessibility. Additionally, you will be responsible for team management and people development, ensuring your team has the support and guidance needed to excel in their roles and grow professionally.

You will have the responsibility of overseeing a dynamic team who manages and maintains critical data assets within our organisation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various systems and databases. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership and Development: Guide, mentor, and direct team members, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities to your team members within the context of master data management. Facilitate continuous learning and skill enhancement in both soft and hard skills

  • Stakeholder and Project Management: Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders (including, Global Process Owners (GPO), Data Owners (DO), local business colleagues, Service delivery and senior leadership), ensuring timely communication on program delivery, SLA, and KPIs. Manage your team capacity effectively to meet project and operational goals.

  • Training and Support: Provide and orchestrate support for user training and other business projects. Enable communities of practice as required for the success of the team’s missions

  • Continuous Development: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new data management techniques. Enhance both soft skills (team management, coaching, stakeholder management, etc.) and hard skills (MDM, Data Governance, data analysis, etc.)

  • Continuous Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance master data management processes, including governance. Develop and maintain a roadmap to guide the evolution of the work, ensuring they adapt to changing business needs and evolving data requirements

  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across the organisation, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements and internal data policies. 

  • Data Quality Management: Oversee initiatives to monitor, measure, and improve the quality of master data, including data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment activities

  • MDM Lifecycle Management: Promote best practices and standards in solution design, oversee the master data lifecycle, ensuring adherence to global standards

  • Data Security and Privacy: Ensure that master data management practices comply with data privacy regulations and policies. Guide implementation of new compliance measures and monitor adherence

  • Technology and Master Data Architecture Management: Drive optimisation of the Master Data Management (MDM) tools and technology stack. Design and maintain data models and architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs and IT infrastructure

  • Data Integration and Optimisation: Manage data integration and synchronisation processes to ensure data consistency. Streamline data management processes for efficiency

  • Problem-solving: Proactively identify business problems or opportunities for improvement and formulate data-driven solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide resolution support

  • Reporting and Analytics: Oversee data analysis to generate insights and support decision-making. Promote the use of dashboards and metrics

  • Business Knowledge Management: Facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure team members have a thorough understanding of the business domain, data requirements, and data consumption views, empowering them to effectively utilise and interpret data for informed decision-making and strategic planning, maximising the value derived from data assets.

About you:

  • Proven expertise in master data management and data governance as well as leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field

  • Experience in managing Data Quality initiatives and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Functional skills with S/4 Hana or MDG, amongst other data management tools and technology stacks

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data-related concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and address their concerns

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and guide the team through changes effectively

  • Proficiency in managing people (providing direction, guidance, and support) and in leading a team through coaching, mentoring, setting objectives, and conducting performance reviews

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement best practice within the team, serving as the team’s role model

Salary ranges from 3.300 to 4.400 euro gross depending on your experience.
