Pay Range
$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities: Basic patient care is provided to ensure comfort and safety 1)Performs and assists rehabilitation and nursing personnel with basic patient care functions. Transfers patients without supervision.Assists Therapists with gait, Therapeutic Exercises, Video Swallow, toileting, dressing, splinting, and other duties as requested 2)Accesses patient information from HED/HOM according to policy and procedures. 3)Monitors patient's environment for safety and comfort during transfers and in preparation for transport. Assists with transferring and lifting of patients 4)Greets and welcomes patients and visitors to Advocate Condell Medical Center via phone or in person. 5)Transports patients to and from unit with assistance as appropriate with Oxygen and I.V. lines. 6)Sets goals and organizes time to accomplish daily tasks 7)Closely monitors and reports change in patient condition and vital signs to the rehabilitation professional and nursing.Trainied to respond to crisis situations. Orients patients and visitors to the environment 8)Responds promptly to help requests from patients and seeks appropriate personnel if necesary 9)Patient care orders are processed accurately and an assessment is made prior to transfers/transport for medical safety. Unit supplies 1)Maintains inventory of clinic supplies. Environment is kept clean and orderly 1)Removes equipment from rehabilitation department when necessary and keeps linens separated into clean and used areas. 2)Maintains tidy, clutter-free environment of care 3)Restock supplies according to guidelines 4)Set-up treatment areas Provision of other team functions, which facilitate smooth and effective unit operations 1)Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment 2)Demonstrates cost effectiveness with supplies and charges patients correctly 3)Maintains appropriate computer skills 4)Precepts new employees to general operating procedures and physical layout of the department 5)Maintains appropriate mandatory competencies Education/Experience Required: High school education or equivalent Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Computer skills Knowlegdge of computer keyboard Ability to communicate effectively Good organizational skills Courteous and professional interpoersonal skills CPR Certification AHA BLS within 30 days of hire Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: See requirements under Section VII-A Pushing, pulling, lifting and transferring patients. Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly). Services may be required on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ambulating with patients over a variety of surfaces with and without assistive devices. Physical and emotional stamina This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
