At Udemy, we’re on a mission to transform lives through learning. Through our intelligent skills platform and a global community of instructors, we’ve helped over 70 million learners and 16,000 organizations achieve their goals. Come join us in ensuring everyone, everywhere has access to the skills they need to unlock their potential and create possibilities for themselves and others.
Hybrid work
Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, Mexico City and Melbourne.
This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office at the nearest hub.
You’re an analytical problem-solver ready to put your skills toward purposeful work that has a global impact. You want to lead the way in innovation, exploring the latest technologies and finding new solutions. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to work with and learn alongside the best in Product, Design, and Engineering.
We’re on the lookout for a Technical Program Manager to work embedded within Udemy’s data teams to drive the ongoing launch and release of new products. This is a unique opportunity to have a major influence on managing the data operations that enable Udemy to launch new product lines that improve lives through learning. We’re looking for an experienced program manager with an analytical mindset and strong communication skills who can drive and own projects to completion. You’ll be a champion for the data teams, anticipating new requirements and ensuring they have the support that they need to be successful. Your breadth of impact will be vast, ranging from how students discover learning experiences to engaging with learning and even to paying for access to courses.
Manage operations of time-bound and/or continuous programs including project scoping, schedule, risk mitigation plans and resource planning, working with product managers, product designers, engineers and key stakeholders across business functions
Balance the delivery of large, high impact, highly cross-functional initiatives and a set of smaller projects
Partner with business, product, design, and engineering leaders to develop program plans, including roadmaps, dependencies, and resourcing plans
Communicate clearly and effectively to management on the plans, status, and critical issues. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and driving them to closure in a timely manner
Continuously improve delivery and organization. Establish and drive adoption of program frameworks, tools and best practices. Share your program management knowledge with the teams.
Lead post-launch analysis to guide future programs
A strong focus on results and outcomes and ownership, not just processes. You have experience establishing processes that are appropriate, but don’t view processes as a cure-all for delivery issues.
Evaluate and refine tools and processes to ensure they are efficient, high quality, and scalable
2+ years of relevant work experience as a technical program manager or equivalent in software development organizations; 2+ years working with data platforms and products
A strong self-starter mindset with exceptional judgment
A self-motivated and proactive work style that allows you to maintain high momentum and drive progress
The ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and stay hyper organized when the going gets tough
Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations, drive actions, and measure success
Demonstrated ability and experience in influencing, developing productive working relationships, and leading teams to successful product delivery
