Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Physical characterization of pharmaceutical samples utilizing a variety of laboratory techniques.

  • Coordinate data – collect, consolidate, format, analyze and provide reports/updates as needed to scientific staff.

  • Perform general cleaning of product development laboratories and equipment.

  • Support initiatives including the development of general scientific principles to support a Quality by Design approach to formulation and process development.

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • The successful candidate will have preferably completed a minimum of their sophomore year and be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or Pharmacy degree program. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. The successful candidate may be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program or doctorate degree program at an accredited college or university in a Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or Pharmacy degree program.

  • Must possess knowledge of science and engineering principles to permit the candidate to work with complex equipment and pharmaceutical ingredients, and to organize and analyze large datasets to enable the solving of difficult technical problems.

  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in order to independently compile and analyze technical data. In addition, the candidate must posses good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents. Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence. Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.

  • Ability to solve equations, apply technical mathematical concepts, and perform complex computations.  Proficiency in descriptive statistics is preferred.

  • Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.

  • May be required to stand; walk; stoop; bend; kneel; and climb steps. May require use of hands and use of arms to lift and scoop. May be required to lift or maneuver boxes or containers using lifting equipment, as well as physically pushing, rolling or lifting. May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: respiratory protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and protective clothing. [Sedentary, Light, Medium, Heavy, or Very Heavy] lifting requirements. 

  • Product development processing laboratories and office situation.
