The Consultant on the Private Equity Employee Benefits team is responsible for delivering strategic employee health and welfare consulting services to private equity-sponsored organizations and their portfolio companies. This role serves as a primary day-to-day client contact, partners closely with Producers and Senior Consultants, and plays a key role in supporting transaction-related activity, including due diligence, onboarding, and post-acquisition integration. The Consultant thrives in a fast-paced environment and is experienced in managing complex client needs with a high level of responsiveness and precision.

A day in the life.

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned private equity-backed portfolio company clients
  • Manage ongoing service delivery, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and adherence to MMA service standards
  • Develop and deliver client-facing materials, including renewal strategies, plan design recommendations, and financial analyses
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance benefit offerings, manage costs, and improve employee experience
  • Collaborate closely with Producers, Associate Consultants, and Analysts to deliver best-in-class service
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to Associate Consultants

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Prior experience in brokerage or insurance industry with a thorough understanding of health plans, funding alternatives and the ability to think through non-traditional solutions
  • Knowledge of various lines of insurance coverage; medical, dental, life, STD, LTD, design, rate structures, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to present to a range of professionals at each client
  • Proficient in Health & Welfare compliance (i.e. HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, 5500, ACA, DOL, etc.)
  • Life & Health Licensure or commitment to achieving within 6 months of start date
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of internal staff & management, external clients, prospects and vendors

The applicable base salary range for this role is $63,200 to $117,900.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
