The Position

The Access Control Engineer provides first-line support and maintenance for physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarms. Responsible for configuring and commissioning hardware, managing small to medium installation projects, and coordinating with vendors for larger implementations. Ensures compliance, accurate documentation, and system health monitoring while delivering technical guidance and excellent stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st line support for all physical security hardware, including CCTV, access control systems, intruder alarms, and security scanners.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Configure, program, and commission all physical security hardware onto the network, maintaining accurate documentation of configurations and changes.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of small to medium physical security installation projects, including planning, execution, and testing.
  • Develop project plans, consult with stakeholders, and oversee implementation of large physical security installation projects by third-party contractors.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating and recommending new or improved physical security solutions.
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance across all GR sites and supported business units, maintaining service logs and compliance with schedules.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the physical security platform, including user access management, system health monitoring, and reporting.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand and deliver on physical security requirements, providing technical guidance during audits and compliance checks.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering physical security installations, including commissioning and integration of systems.
  • Strong engineering background with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining security hardware and software.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver projects within agreed deadlines while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working with other relevant software tools.
  • Committed to providing a first-class customer service experience and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
