Position Summary

** 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday from 2:00pm-12:00am, with additional flexibility during peak seasons **

The 2nd Shift Operations Manager will be responsible for all distribution center operations on the shift. This will include all operational responsibilities and deliverables within the production and shipping departments.  It also entails leading a team of exempt level colleagues in a fast paced, high volume, highly regulated environment. 

This position will direct production and outbound operations for areas within a distribution center and designs programs to provide quality services to stores and customers. The operations manager contributes to the achievement of profit and expense goals, customer service standards, and compliance with government and organizational regulations.

What you will do:

  • Plan, organize, schedule, forecast, and coordinate production and shipping to meet production schedules and operational goals.

  • Analyze and implement staffing models to maximize capacity, thruput with the goal of meeting production and shipping goals.

  • Implement and adhere 100% to all production and shipping compliance and quality standards/SOPs set forth by the company.

  • Strive to deliver all performance metrics in the production and shipping value streams.

  • Review/analyze production, quality, and other operational reports, initiating changes, as needed, to ensure a high level of service to store operations.

  • Develop and implement plans, procedures, programs, and strategies to enhance performance, service level, and cost-per-piece.

  • Prepare departmental budget and control expenditures against approved budget.

  • Administer policies/procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Professionally address issues with employees utilizing the proper company policies, guidelines and resources.

  • Develop an accountable supervisory staff with an emphasis on teambuilding, communication, performance accountability, and positive employee relations management.

  • Ensure maximum utilization of manpower and equipment.

  • Promote and reinforce safety and security awareness and compliance among the supervisory staff and hourly employee groups.

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and manage the daily activities of assigned multi-shift functional areas within the distribution center

  • Develops tactical and operational plans to achieve the Distribution Center Operations area's goals, and communicates plans to managers, supervisors, and individual contributors.

  • Administers strategy to achieve performance expectations and financial metrics.

  • Coordinates deliverable timelines, accountability, and action steps for completion.

  • Collaborate with peers on recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

  • Allocates resources to ensure timely, secure, and accurate deliveries of products and services.

  • Analyzes areas of opportunities within the distribution center to identify best-in-class solutions.

  • Manages operational aspects of the team (e.g., budget, performance, and compliance), and implements workforce and succession plans to meet business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of prior management experience in a distribution/manufacturing/Production environment

  • Minimum 3 years managing inventory control functions within a Distribution Center/Warehouse

  • Functional Knowledge and transactional experience with WMS systems

  • Experience managing Exempt colleagues

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees

  • Ability to multitask and collaborate in a fast-paced cross functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-Lingual preferred

  • Master's degree

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Ability to analyze information effectively and consistently

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Management

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,360.00 - $159,120.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
